I will try to update this blog as much as possible with my views, previews, reviews and many other fanscapades as it comes to me and with everything I read or watch.
Please note that as is expected, not everyone in the world will share the same views and or opinions about the same thing and whatever I post here is simply my opinion and may not necessarily be the right view, but it is my view.
I have been an anime fan since way back in 1997 when I was in elementary primary school, back then we had no clue what anime was and it was all cartoons to us, we would run home to catch the next episode of Dragonball unaware where all this brilliant stuff to which we were hooked came from.
With growth came enlightenment that this was actually really anime. The first time I watched Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), I was instantly hooked! But at the time the series was running on national T.v, slotted in at around 3 0r 4p.m and that was when the school day concluded. It would take round about 30minutes to get home and as a result I would catch it ending and that was the first enigma. Then of course the T.V station was kind enough to air an omnibus over the weekend, this fell on saturday mornings and worked for the best part of a month or so, then 'the' parents decided I had to attend Saturday classes, the horror.
Here I was missing out on my favorite show and it all seemed like a conspiracy thought up by my father to punish me for all my mishaps at school, and trust me I was no saint. So with time I gave up on this dream and just made with whatever I could. Then as the time tumbled on, I found myself with a considerable sum of allowance money (I'm not sure if this was intentional saving or accidental) but I had a considerable sum and unlike on previous occasions where I was either mugged or ripped off! (I remember you 'Patel' Shimoni 1998 P.4.B), on this occasion I chose to invest in the show my parents had maliciously conspired to keep out of my reach.
I called in a few favors here and there (I was quite the Ingenious 9yr Old) and a relative of mine probably out of pity (pretty certain it was) went out of their way to bring me a the full show, (which looking back now must have been way more expensive).
Ridiculously, this show was in runespeak! I couldn't make out a single sentence and I was lost, cried furiously for my allowance money. but at that point I had been introduced to Japanese anime and I found out that it had subtitles, the vocal expressions and voice acting was more engaging and I was hooked, I just kept looking for more and kept on collecting and before I knew it, I have amassed a massive anime library of about 12TB! Most of which I haven't watched.
The first years were slow, and I came in contact with one show per every 2-3 years, but by 2004 my hobby had grown with me and I had started getting more and more shows though this was a very expensive hobby, it felt fulfilling every time I watched a new show and was amazed at the variety of stories and characters I encountered. First it was Dragonball, then Rurouni Kenshin, then One Piece, then Naruto, now I watch practically almost everything released on a weekly basis.
Its only recently that I started considering writing up a blog to share my opinions and tales and animescapades that i have had over time, I can't detail everthing and I think this post has gone on for too long, but look forward to me posting whatever I will be reading/watching here with full reviews.
You can also ask for reviews or recomendations and If I have watched it or read i I will help you out. Thanks for giving me your time.
Ian.
